For many of us, the age of innocence has long passed us by, but when you look into the eyes of a baby, it just melts you. Totally unconcerned with the affiars of this life, the little child looks at you with hope, tranquility and peace indescribably pure. As you look into this baby's eyes, try and capture a bit of it!!!

Athena at the Parthenon, Nashville, TN

The Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. It was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. The building is a full-scale replica of the Athenian original; and the statue of Athena Parthenos within is a reconstruction of the long lost original to careful scholarly standards: she is cuirassed and helmeted, carries a shield on her left arm and a small(6 ft) statue of Victory in her right palm, and stands 42 feet (13 m) high, gilt with more than eight pounds of gold leaf; an equally colossal serpent rears its head between her and her shield.

Sorry this one is a bit dark. This is a chameleon. I don't think i've seen one this close. Though we hear a lot about chameleons, I realised that I didn't know much about them at all like what they eat, how they hunt, who their predators are, etc. All I knew was that they can change colour!!! Is it just me or is that basically what we all know???

For the next couple of days, I'll showcase some of the reptiles I shot recently at the Houston Zoo in Houston, TX. I always marvel at the intricacies of their skin texture and uniqueness. This is is an alligator/crocodile (can't remember)

I decided to participate in the Susan Komen race for the cure event in atl on Saturday. Don't know anyone personally having suffered the disease but liked the idea of supporting a cause with such laudable efforts. No pp done here (bit tired after running 5K) but took this shot from about 50 ft away through a wire fence a bit of which you can see in the higlight of the balloon. Over the next few days, I will post some pictures of the event. Rather colourful!!!

Cinco de Mayo was an event that took place in atl on sunday. Haven't really researched into what it's all about but know that it is a hispanic festivity. Will do my homework later. This here is a shot from a dancer in a rather colourful attire. the beads on his leg added to the sound of the drum they were dancing to. I have no idea what the dance was though. Sorry.
